what would it mean to explore north city, while expecting to find hope and beauty?
#stlverdict: day three
today's action was solemn and reverent, for anthony lamar smith - and all of the black folx who have been murdered by the state. but it was also filled with black joy and resilience and trust. it was a powerful afternoon. . i left shortly after the organized action was over. but it is vital to continue to lift up the narrative of the folx who stayed behind a little longer: after many protestors left, the cops moved in on the rest. an unmarked car drove through the group, in an attempt to harm and to agitate. cops in riot gear boxed them in. this was only the beginning of their escalation tactics, in response to a day of non-violent protest. rubber bullets were deployed. mace was used. last i heard, chemical agents were said to be "imminent." but i am sure you'll hear a different story in the news. you can do better. find the real story, and listen to the folx who were there. . it is our duty to fight for our freedom.
