black love is foundational. it is a building block to all things good and necessary in my life. it has broken me open and built me up in ways both tangible and intangible. black love’s most present manifestation in my life has been through my mom. deep, unconditional, flawed, comforting, made just by her just for me. that has become my model for carrying on black love for myself and my community(s). i often feel like there are so many forces designed to dull black love, but we keep doing it and doing it well. that’s the essence of revolution to me.
